L'Angeline, our guest house on the banks of the royal river
L'Angeline, overlooking the Loire village of Gennes, offers a magnificent panorama over the Loire and the surrounding countryside.
Former priory of Saint Eusèbe, this farmhouse adjoins the eponymous church and the Memorial des Cadets de Saumur.
Ideally located between Saumur and Angers, it can be the starting point for many tourist and sports circuits.
You will discover a great diversity of landscapes along the banks of the Loire, an extremely rich and varied architectural heritage covering centuries of history and human activity (menhirs and dolmens, troglodyte habitat, amphitheater and vestige of a Gallo-Roman village, mills, castles, churches…).
The Loire was the main axis, if not unique - the land routes being poorly developed and insecure - of trade and exchange until the 19th century; Thus the transport of tufa - noble limestone, a sign of the cultural identity of the Loire Valley - used for the construction of countless stately homes, abbeys, towns and villages.
